Laura Ingalls Wilder Easter Fun

Those of you who have read the Little House series know that Laura Ingalls Wilder never spoke of Easter. So, while a Laura Ingalls Wilder Easter giveaway might not fit in perfectly with her books, I’m sure those of you who love the Little House series will appreciate it anyway! The giveaway actually ends after Easter so it can be a belated Laura Ingalls Wilder Easter gift to yourself.

Laura Ingalls Wilder Easter Fun!

I love the Little House books. I have actually visited most (possibly all) of the Laura Ingalls Wilder museums. They are located in:

  • Walnut Grove, MN
  • Burr Oak, IA
  • Pepin, WI
  • Mansfield, MO

There may be more, but I have been to those four. They are all great and I definitely recommend checking them out.

Laura Ingalls Wilder Easter?

I am not sure why in the Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder Easter was not mentioned. It could be that it was not celebrated like we do today so it didn’t make much fun when actually writing about it. Or, maybe it was just a busy time so Easter went past quickly. I even read a couple of sites that guessed it could be because her mother died on Easter Day. Her mother died in 1924 and her first book was published in 1932 so it is possible that at that time Easter was just not a holiday she wanted to write about. I guess we will never really know, but it is interesting to guess.

Maybe this is something the new Little House on the Prairie® website will mention! In honor of this great new website, we are going to be giving away a huge Little House on the Prairie prize package. You can also enter a second giveaway on the Little House on the Prairie® website (so be sure to do that and double your chances of winning this awesome Laura Ingalls Wilder Easter prize.
