This is the best potato bread recipe!
When I make up my jars to bake bread there are four types that I always mix up. A basic white bread, rosemary bread, potato bread, and cottage bread. This potato bread tastes like white bread, but it is a little heavier. It is absolutely delicious!
I have tried a few recipes for potato bread using real potatoes, but I have not found my “winner” yet. Most of them are too heavy for my liking. Besides, I like to use my leftover potatoes to make gnocchi! I use store bought potato flakes, but you can always dehydrate your own if you want to use only homestead ingredients.
Potato Bread Recipe
Ingredients for Potato Bread
- 1 1/4 Cups water (warm)
- 3 Tbs oil
- 7 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbs mashed potato flakes
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp yeast
Directions to make Potato Bread
- If you are making up jars like I do, then to make bread-making faster put the sugar, salt, potato flakes, and flour in the jar. When it is time to make the bread put the water and oil in the bread machine. Dump the contents of the jar in next. Finally, add the yeast. Use the basic setting on the machine.
