Granola is a great “on the go” snack… and one I like to have on-hand during the summer when the kids are burning calories faster than superman. It gives them a good (and healthy) boost in the afternoon. I do love my Oatmeal Cookie Granola, but this one is even healthier and still delicious.
The first time I tried this healthy granola recipe I did burn it so beware! If you watch it closely and that will not happen. It cooks pretty quickly.
Super Healthy Granola Recipe
Ingredients for Super Healthy Granola:
- 1/3 cup honey
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1/3 cup canola oil
- 2 Tbs water
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 cups rolled oats
- ¼ cup sesame seed
- ½ cup sunflower seed
- ¾ cup nuts
- ¾ cup unsweetened coconut (I left this out, not a coconut fan)
- 1 cup dried fruit (I used a blend of blueberries, cherries, cranberries, and plums)
Add the dry ingredients together (except for the dried fruit) and mix the other ingredients in a separate bowl. Coat the dry mixture evenly and spread on a covered cookie pan. Bake 10-25 minutes at 350. Watch closely! It should be a light brown. Add the dry fruit last.
The kids can help with this granola recipe! It is an easy fun one for them to do.
This sounds very yummy, Heidi!
